A two-sided small leaflet was distributed locally on 19th January by Taylor Wimpey and their Agents Barton Willmore referring to an outline planning application being made for residential development & Communitywoodland/meadowland South of Kipling Road, south of the River.
At extremely short notice (just Two Days!), 'community engagement sessions' were held by Taylor Wimpey at the Swans Nest Hotel (Garden Suite)on Thursday 21st January from 4pm to 8pm and on Saturday 23rd January from 9am to 1pm. There was no real detail given on the proposals.
The Outline Planning Application 10/00016/OUT can be seen here ,
and the CLOSING DATE was 15TH FEBRUARY.
Details are sparse but one of the contentious issues already is that access is stated as being from Kipling Road, thus turning all of Bridgetown into rat-runs and will result in a large increase in traffic to an already jammed Banbury Road and Shipston Road. The developers submitted amendments to the access but this of course does absolutely nothing for the horrendous traffic problem that will result. In addition Bridgetown School is already oversubscribed so perhaps the developers and SDC can tell us where these children will go to school.
Stratford Voice will keep you informed as the situation develops. We have sent our comment to SDC as follows:-
We wish to register our objection to this application on the basis that the moratorium has not been lifted and therefore consideration of this application at this time is not appropriate. In addition the Core Strategy is still emerging and until that is firmed up applications such as this one should be shelved until next year when the position may be clearer.

This development is uneccesary and unwanted. The Council seem hell bent on building more and more houses to an already overdeveloped town. Its about time that the Council stopped giving in to the developers and started to LISTEN TO THE ELECTORATE. They have already lost seats at District and County level and if they carry on lets hope they will lose a lot more. Its time Topham and his gang were slung out !!

This is just not on !! We were told that Trinity Mead would be 500 houses but ended up at 700 and a big hideous development to boot. This would completely ruin the Bridgetown environment.
PLEASE PROTEST VIA THE COUNCIL WEBSITE OR BY LETTER
