WCC PROPOSAL TO CHARGE FOR PARKING

MEETING MONDAY 19TH JULY

METHODIST HALL OLD TOWN AT 7.30pm

As you may be aware, Warwick County Council Cabinet are to decide soon whether or not to impose parking charges for parking on the Greenway Car Park.  It would appear that, once again, local Stratford people will not have much say in the matter, this being decided totally at County Cabinet level.

WCC state that the scheme is designed to raise revenue to re-invest in the facility and minimize disturbances from anti social behaviour.

Local residents are horrified by this proposal (a previous attempt had been made in 2007) and can envisage traffic chaos, parking outside their homes and more congestion.

Local Resident Mr Adrian Mc Carthy (who campaigned to get a similar proposal dropped in 2007) has organised the meeting above to which he has invited councillors and a representative from WCC.

Please make every effort to attend this meeting-this will have a severe impact to all those that use this well-loved facility.

 ==================================================

FOLLOWING THE MEETING WCC HAVE AGREED TO DROP THIS CONTROVERSIAL PROPOSAL AND TO WORK WITH LOCAL RESIDENTS ON FUTURE MANAGEMENT OF THIS WELL-USED AND LOVED FACILITY.

Here we go again.!! Warwick County Council are trying to impose this on residents of STRATFORD (Remember the stupid proposed footbridge?? ) . Its time that the County Council Cabinet started to listen to local residents;remember that they have lost many seats at County and District level. WHEN WILL THESE PEOPLE START TO LEARN !!
